Garbage Carts

As of January 1st, the City of Cedarburg is going to an automated garbage pickup system through Waste Management.  This is similar to the way they pick up your recycling.  Your new trash carts were delivered recently and a 96-gallon size was chosen as the default cart by the Public Works Commission and the Common Council.  If you need the smaller cart, please contact Waste Management at 888-960-0008.

You can start using the cart now if you wish, but it must be used starting the week of January 4th.  You can get rid of your current cans by putting a note on them indicating they are garbage and Michael will pick it up during his normal route.

City policy allows for one cart per building.  If you own a duplex or apartment building you will need to contact Waste Management to purchase additional garbage carts if they are needed. 

FEES:

1) A swap out for either larger 96 gallon to a smaller 64 gallon or vice versa is $25.00

2) An additional cart fee is $60/year for garbage and $24/year for recycling.
