Check List for Opening a Business in Cedarburg

Opening a Business in the City of Cedarburg

Thanks for considering Cedarburg as a location for your business. The city has a long-standing history of attracting residents, visitors and businesses because of the standards those three groups have worked hard to establish. We encourage you not to look at these standards as impediments, but rather as expectations that all businesses – especially in our Downtown Historic District – meet and exceed to continue making Cedarburg a preeminent destination.

The list below highlights some of the more common standards you will encounter. Please take the time to review and research how they might impact the process of opening and establishing your business. If you have questions about anything on the list, please reach out to Administrator Mikko Hilvo so we can make your introduction to Cedarburg and our community as welcoming as possible.
