After careful consideration, the City of Cedarburg has made the difficult decision to not open the Cedarburg Community Pool this year.
The safety of our staff and public, social gathering limitations, lack of proper personal protective equipment and sanitization supplies for public and staff, as well as the negative fiscal impact this would have on the City of Cedarburg were all factors in the decision.
Another reason behind this decision was the shortage of staff that we are facing. The entire Cedarburg Community Pool staff is roughly 35% short of what is needed to operate the facility during a normal season. Adding in the extra guidelines that we would need to follow to ensure the safety of the public and staff, we would be looking at an even more extreme staff shortage.
We know many of you are wondering about the refunds of season passes that you may have purchased prior to the season, those will all be refunded and sent back to you in the next few weeks.
We understand that this is disappointing news for many families, but we look forward to reopening and welcoming you back safely in 2021.
Thank you for understanding.
Stay Safe and Well,
Cedarburg Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department
