Payment of Taxes

Click here to pay taxes on-line through Official Payment Corporation.

If you prefer to use the telephone, dial 1-800-2PayTax (1-80-272-9829), select option 3, enter jurisdiction code 5950 and follow the remaining messages.  Make sure to make down your confirmation number.

There is a 2.75% fee for credit card payments and a $2.75 fee for electronic checks.  With the electronic check option, you are able to pay up to five parcels (less than $10,000) for $2.75, for anything above $10,000 the cost is $15.  The fee is being charged and retained by Official Payments Corporation.

Taxes may also be paid at City Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The Treasurer's Office will be closed December 24, 25, & 31 and January 1.

The following banks will also also accept payments:

  • Bank Mutual (Cedarburg)

  • Commerce State Bank (Cedarburg)

  • Cornerstone Community Bank (Grafton)

  • Harris Bank (Cedarburg)

  • M & ! Bank (Cedarburg)

  • Port Washington State Bank (Grafton & Cedarburg)

  • Tri-City National Bank (Grafton & Cedarburg)

Payments can be made during normal lobby hours (not drive-through tellers).  Bring a copy of your tax bill(s) to process payment.

If you mail your tax payment, it must be postmarked on or before the due date (or December 31, if you are paying your bill in 2009).  If you would like a receipt, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope; otherwise your canceled check is your receipt.

If you are paying with a tax escrow check from a financial institution, please make sure that it is properly endorsed to the City of Cedarburg.  If the escrow check is higher than the tax bill, the difference will be refunded to you via a city check within ten business days.  Refunds related to payments made at local banks will be made at the time of payment.

Contact the City Treasurer's Office at 375-7607 with any questions you may have.
