ELECTION INFORMATION 2012 Elections: February 21 (primary if necessary), April 3, September 11, and November 6. All Elections are held at the Community Center Gym, W63 N643 Washington Avenue. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voter ID Electors voting at the polling place must show a photo ID in order to vote beginning in 2012. The following photo IDs are acceptable for voting and can be unexpired or expired after the date of the most recent general election: ►Wisconsin DOT-issued driver license or identification card ►Military ID card issued by a U.S. uniformed service ►A U.S. Passport The following photo IDs are also acceptable for voting purposes, but must be unexpired: ►A certificate of naturalization that was issued not earlier than two years before the date of an election at which it is presented ►A driving receipt issued by the Wisconsin DOT (valid for 60 days) ►An identification card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in WI ►A photo identification card issued by a WI accredited university or college that contains the date of issuance, signature of student, expiration date no later than two years after issuance and is accompanied by a separate document that proves enrollment
Effective January 1, 2003, there is a
NEW requirement to register to vote. A Driver License
Number must be
included on the registration application. If you do not have a
Driver License, you may enter the last four digits of your Social
Security Number or your Wisconsin State ID card number.
YOUR REGISTRATION CANNOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL THIS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED. If you have neither a Drivers License, a
Social Security Card, or a Wisconsin state ID card number, you must mark the circle on the Voter Registration
Application attesting that you have neither.
You must have lived at your current address for 28 days in order to
register to vote. BY MAIL: Fill out on line or download the Application for Voter Registration (GAB-131), complete the form and mail it to City Clerk, P.O. Box 49, Cedarburg, WI 53012 up to 5 p.m. on the 20th day before the election. If you are registering to vote in Wisconsin for the first time, a copy of acceptable proof of residence must be accompany your registration form. (See list below). If proof of residence is not sent, it must be provided at the polls before you are permitted to cast a ballot.
IN PERSON: Clerk's Office, City Hall, W63 N645 Washington Avenue, 8:30 - 4:30 p.m. (open until 5 p.m. on the Thursday and Friday before election). In person registration ends at 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the election. Proof of residence must be provided if you register less than 20 days before an election.
AT THE POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY: You must bring proof of residence with your current name and address as listed below.

The following constitute acceptable proof of residence if the document contains the elector's current and complete name and current and complete residential address:

Absentee voting is also available in the City Clerk's Office weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On the Thursday and Friday before Election Day, hours are extended until 5:00 p.m. In person absentee voting ends the Friday before the election at 5:00 p.m. You must provide photo ID when voting absentee in-person.

Complete
Federal Post Card application (FPCA) to request an absentee ballot and
to register or you may send a letter requesting an absentee
ballot including an original signature of voter, city address, and
mailing address. If you are not registered, you must also submit a
voter registration application EB-131 (link to copy above).
Overseas electors receive ballots for federal offices only. An
absentee ballot request from an overseas elector is effective for two
successive general elections. Would you like to work as an Election Inspector? The election workday is from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m., but if you can work only half a day, we still need you! Election Inspectors are trained by city staff, paid $85 for the day and provided with a continental breakfast and full supper. Must be a resident of the City of Cedarburg.
